A road trip, sometimes called cross-country road trip, is usually a long distance journey on the road, often from one town or city to another. It is not uncommon for a road trip to cover several states and even countries. Typical road trips start out with a couple of nights in a hotel and end with a trip to the next town or state. In some cases, road trips can last several weeks or even months.
Road Trips can be made in a variety of ways. In general, road trips can be made from the nearest major city to its farthest point, or vice versa. There are even some caravans that travel long distances between lodges and campsites, so that they have no need for hotels and other amenities.
Another way to plan a road trip is to divide the route into manageable segments, such as cities, parks, beaches, etc., and to choose a reasonable and safe route. To plan these journeys, it is recommended to make a list of the necessary stops, along with their addresses, telephone numbers, gas prices, etc., so that nothing is missed. Along with the list of stops, it is also necessary to decide the expected route, the expected amount of traveling, the budget (estimated value of the trip) and the expected length of the journey. Also it is important to decide on a reliable vehicle (usually the standard family car will do), a dependable driver, and to contact local law enforcement or other officials if one is stopped for any reason.
